3D Analysis Software    Leave the Plane: 3D is much more than 2D    The image analysis software Mov3D offers you the possibility to analyze 3D motion of dynamic recordings.    For this you track objects in several different stereoscopic views with the module MovXact, Subsequently the 3D curves are calculated based on photogrammetric methods.     Main features     Easy management of multi views within one test file    Interface to 3D control points    New type of marker CODE (= coded ring marker, by AICON)    Calculation of camera position using known control points    Calibration of camera and lens with powerful distortion correction.    (Use drag&drop from module CamFolder)    3D calibration and output of x-y-z displacement/time diagrams    (with a-v differentiation etc. see MovXact)     Data necessary for successful 3D analysis:  control point data  Tracking data: control points and unknown points  image sequence  (per view)   Calibration measurements  image sequence of test target +  camera - lens - data  (per camera)+  control point data in ASCII file     ► Position measurements  3D control points with tracking data +  calibration measurement  (per view + per image)  ► 3D measurements  tracking data of unknown points +  calibration measurements +  position measurements  ( n * 2D → 3D    Pre-conditions for 3D measurements   At least two views from different points are included in the analysis session.   (Same) control points and marker targets with the same name are setup and measured in the single views.   All cameras run synchronously (as possible within 1 line)   The frequencies of the image sequences need to be equal or    integer parts of the maximum occurring frequency = max. frequency / n.   The T0 start times should be in the raster of the maximum image frequency:   T0(n) - T0-min. = 1 / max. frequency.   The camera positions are calculated within the overlapping time interval; for this measurement data of at least 4 control points per image are necessary. Alternatively the positions may be defined as „static“.   A triangulation on the basis of the measured image coordinates must be possible.   Own scales or rulers are not necessary for calibration.   The scaling is implicitly included in the control point information.
FalCon etra MovXact  2DThe Analysis System for Image SequencesThe program interface combines typical work steps in clearly designed dialogs so that the user can evaluate both series tests and special tests quickly, reproducibly and accurately. The FalCon MovXact module allows you to precisely analyze image sequences with the methods of 2D image measurement technology. In addition to robust, automatic marker tracking, task-specific calibration and processing of measurement results is supported. Measurement graphs and individual measurement values are displayed to fit the image data precisely, are shown numerically, and are written to standardized file formats.Geometric measuring and tracking has never been that easy!ComponentsManagement of test dataSeveral views of a test or several films of a test series within one analysis sessionImport/export of picture and measurement data (standardized file formats)Settings and layout from registryIndividual defaults for markers and calibrationCompact data saving and text logInteractive image managementMeasurement of points, distances, angles and areasAssessment of outlines (contours = f(t))Measuring by planar stencilsAutomatic measuring and marker trackingSupported marker types:MXT MarkerXtrackT (5-point markers)DOT (1-point markers),QUAD (quadrant markers)CODE (coded markers of type "AICON")COR (any image pattern)PIX (coordinate measurements)Parallel procedure with sophisticated combination of the methodsEasy set-up of markers (auto-centering)Group model for dropout handlingMeasuring of virtual pointsCalibration of measurement dataDistortion correction according to camera and lens2D reference planes: coordinate system and scaleDepth correctionFrame rate and T0Processing of measurement dataExtraction of additional variables, e.g. resultant, angle, and MXT angledifferential measurement with respect to time or spaceISO/SAE time domain filters and differentiation (a-v)Export of the data into ISO, DIAdem® or ASCII file formatRepresentation of measurement data in a picture or diagramOverlay graphics from picture measurement dataAnalysis-picture and movie representationPrecise measurement zoom window with flexible configurationQuick Look of locus diagrams (x-y) and time functions (a-v-d)Easy export of images and diagrams to the clipboard
FalCon etra MovBagAnalysis of Airbag Image Sequences  The analysis program FalCon etra MovBag extracts the outlines from airbag test scenes and derives related measurement values.Main featuresAutomatic measurement of time-varying contour graphs.Display in the image overlay and diagramEvaluation of specific measurement values:maximum expansion, area, center of gravity (output and display according to analysis system etra MovXact)Measurement of discrete points, markers or areas/patchesCalibration of results with free choice of the coordinate systemExport to Multi-D format, DIAdem® etc. The analysis program etra MovBag offers automatic measurements of airbag outlines as contour graphs = f(t). The available image processing tools are designed principally for blow-ups in a test environment; measurement methods detect differences regarding brightness and color saturation (absolute and relative to a reference image). All thresholds and parameters are adjustable.A mainly automatic measurement requires the following boundary conditions:The airbag surface is illuminated appropriately and is "bright" (in relation to the near environment).A white balance according to the color of the bag, e.g. silver, ensures a "non-colored" appearance of the airbag, i.e. the color saturation is low.The background of the scene should show a pattern helping to separate the airbag surface. Thus a (relatively) "dark" and "colored“ (as possible homogeneous)  curtain is recommendable. Measuring within a monochrome image sequence (KODAK 4540), the brightness gradient between background and airbag should be considerable.Bright or even white labels, bars etc. in the region of interest should be avoided. Nevertheless the user may select a detection area to mask-off non-relevant regions in the scene, e.g. visible spotlights. In version 1.0 the image background is assumed to be static. To measure within dynamic tests (= moving sleds) the module will be extended: trajectories (as a result of etra MovXact) allow a reference to a "running" background.ComponentsThe outlines are displayed in the image overlay: options are e.g. color, filling, background mask, coordinate system with axes and grid.An overview sketch with legends helps to log the temporal course of the expansion: options are sequence interval, increment and background mask.Calibrated graphs can be displayed as x-y diagrams or exported into table or standard files (DIAdem®).A new Multi-D data format enables a visualization as temporal sequence of 2D diagrams. Several of these diagram sequences can be displayed synchronized to AVIs, thus a comparison of different tests is possible. Of course the modules QuickView andCustomerView support this data format too.Specific measurement values are extracted from the contour graphs: maximum expansion, area and center of gravity (extendable on demand). These measurement values are calibrated and post-processed according to the extensive features of the analysis systemMovXact. Results are output numerically and as time diagrams.
