Alternatively the positions may be defined as „static“.   A triangulation on the basis of the measured image coordinates must be possible.   Own scales or rulers are not necessary for calibration.   The scaling is implicitly included in the control point information.

The available image processing tools are designed principally for blow-ups in a test environment; measurement methods detect differences regarding brightness and color saturation (absolute and relative to a reference image). All thresholds and parameters are adjustable.A mainly automatic measurement requires the following boundary conditions:The airbag surface is illuminated appropriately and is "bright" (in relation to the near environment).A white balance according to the color of the bag, e.g. silver, ensures a "non-colored" appearance of the airbag, i.e. the color saturation is low.The background of the scene should show a pattern helping to separate the airbag surface. Thus a (relatively) "dark" and "colored“ (as possible homogeneous)  curtain is recommendable. Measuring within a monochrome image sequence (KODAK 4540), the brightness gradient between background and airbag should be considerable.Bright or even white labels, bars etc. in the region of interest should be avoided. Nevertheless the user may select a detection area to mask-off non-relevant regions in the scene, e.g. visible spotlights.In version 1.0 the image background is assumed to be static. To measure within dynamic tests (= moving sleds) the module will be extended: trajectories (as a result of etra MovXact) allow a reference to a "running" background.ComponentsThe outlines are displayed in the image overlay: options are e.g. color, filling, background mask, coordinate system with axes and grid.An overview sketch with legends helps to log the temporal course of the expansion: options are sequence interval, increment and background mask.Calibrated graphs can be displayed as x-y diagrams or exported into table or standard files (DIAdem®).A new Multi-D data format enables a visualization as temporal sequence of 2D diagrams. Several of these diagram sequences can be displayed synchronized to AVIs, thus a comparison of different tests is possible. AVI Generation FalCon ImagerControl offers exactly the power you need for your test objects and crash systems. From a small test bench controlled by PC to a large system with a large number of auxiliary computers.Readout and processing times were still tolerable, having an imager resolution of 512*384 pixels. However this takes about 6 times longer using the new high-resolution cameras.For example, if you have needed 6 minutes per view until now, it took 1 hour using 10 cameras. The same procedure will require 6 hours using the new cameras!We have taken measures to respond to this situation. What could be more obvious than sharing the task to several computers? Don’t worry, you don’t have to run from one screen to another. As before, you will need only one control computer. The rest takes place invisibly to you: You will just be surprised that processing could be that fast. A load balancing process comes into play, that considers the performance capacity of the auxiliary computers, the image size and the desired readout interval. And if you on the road with your laptop computer and no auxiliary computers are available, the laptop does all the work, and you don’t have to reconfigure anything.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------FalCon etra QuickViewThe perfect tool for digital High-Speed Videos:Camera Control, Image Sequence Optimization, AVI-Creation and synchronized View together with Measured Data.The FalCon QuickView module provides both, quick creation of image sequence files, as well as convenient viewing with the use of a sequence and measurement data viewer. It also supports Ethernet control of high-speed video cameras: set-up and identification of cameras, mode control and rapid download of picture data via Ethernet and FireWire.Digital sequence pictures can be prepared and improved to create a "Video for Windows" file (AVI) from them. FalCon QuickView’s batch capability makes automatic processing possible.Different picture file formats (especially of high-speed video cameras) are supported. Pictures can be processed in terms of white balance, gamma, brightness and contrast, color matrix, sharpness and color depth. Titles and logos created with a graphics program as well as texts and time values can be inserted. AVI files are created (on request) uncompressed and thus without any loss in the individual images.The files can then be compressed so that the AVI files can be played back more rapidly and also to save storage space. Since the program uses the "Video for Windows" interface of MS Windows, all supported (and installed) compression codecs and hardware accelerators can be used.A viewer for AVI files (Master Panel) makes it possible to watch several videos simultaneously. The replay speed and size of the picture can be changed as well. Functions for single-step, positioning, autorepeat and section playback are also available.It is also possible to represent measurement data as time diagrams. FalCon etra FrameMerge  The Tool for Merging and Comparing Multiple Image Sequences  The module FrameMerge offers the comparison of several video sequences by image superposition/overlay or bysplitscreen/mosaic.  Create descriptive result movies for documentation or representation.  The features of the module are designed acc. to the problems in the crash-test section:Recordings from different cameras with varying lenses and possibly variable view cut-outs are to be combined precisely aligned. FalCon QuickView DB  The Comprehensive Tool for Impact Tests:  Execution, Storage & Backup of Tests,  Navigation and Viewing of Digital Videos and Measured Data____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  FalCon QuickView DB is more than a product, it is a concept. It consists basically of two separate programs, a database   server and aclient program.  The features offered by the server include automatic data backup, CD burning, access protocols, access protection, automatic data importing and much more.  In addition to the functions familiar from    FalCon QuickView (picture processing, picture optimization, AVI creation and compression, synchronized representation of measurement graphs and AVIs), theclient receives additional functions for managing the archive, performing tests, controlling cameras and transferring picture data from the camera to the host, not to mention one of the most important features, a "Navigator".  This Navigator is the interface to the database, and can be used to perform searches. The Navigator window is divided into two sections: the left side contains a tree structure of the selected tests/film/pictures/measurement data, while the right side contains additional information related to the item selected on the left side. To display the films/pictures/measurement graphs, simply double-click or drag with the mouse.  Another very convenient feature is performing tests with camera control: you can set parameters for, monitor, or download from as many as 255 cameras in parallel. Once the test has been performed, all you need to do is click with the mouse and the system works automatically for you: transfer of picture data from the cameras to the host via Ethernet with simultaneous creation of AVIs, transfer of data to the server and compression of the AVIs.
